The Educational Project: Equipping the Next Generation

At ReptheFaith, we believe faith isn’t just something you wear—it’s something you live. That’s why we’re kicking off this season of giving with The Educational Project, our annual back-to-school initiative focused on empowering students and families with the tools they need to thrive.

Partnering for Impact

In collaboration with the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR), we’re coming together to make sure no student enters the school year unprepared. From fresh haircuts to fully stocked backpacks, this event is designed to remove barriers and boost confidence for our youth.

Whether it’s the right supplies or simply knowing that someone believes in them, we want every student to feel covered—physically, mentally, and spiritually.

What’s Happening

The Educational Project will take place on
📅 Saturday, August 23
🕚 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
📍 Hillcrest Recreation Center
Address: 3100 Denver St SE, Washington, DC 20020

Families can expect:

  • Free School Supplies – Backpacks, notebooks, pencils, crayons, and more

  • Free Haircuts – Provided by local barbers to help students start school feeling sharp

  • Community Resources – Support stations and encouragement from volunteers and mentors

  • Fun & Positivity – A safe space filled with love, music, and community energy

Why It Matters

Preparing for school isn’t just about pencils and paper—it’s about confidence, support, and knowing you’re not alone. For many families, the financial strain of back-to-school season is real. Through The Educational Project, we step in as a faith-driven community to lift that burden and show the love of Christ in action.

This is more than a giveaway. It’s a mission.

Want to Help?

We’re calling on volunteers, donors, barbers, and partners to make this day unforgettable for local youth. If you’re interested in donating supplies, sponsoring a student, or joining the mission:

Together, we can rep our faith not just in what we wear, but in how we care.

The Educational Project is just the beginning. Let’s show this city what it looks like to live different when you have faith.
